On Friday, 31st October 2014 ScotCRN nurses took the opportunity to attend the annual Scottish Research Nurse and Coordinator's Network (SRNCN) Conference in Dundee.
It was an informative and interactive day of talks and round table discussions on subjects based on the theme: Celebrating Clinical Research Nursing in Scotland.
Also included this year was the first 'Scottish Research Nurse of the Year' award ceremony, designed not only to recognise and reward excellence in our profession but also to increase the wider understanding of the importance of Clinical Research Nursing in general. The award went to Sheila Morris, a CRN at the Regional Infectious Diseases Unit at the Western General Hospital.
In addition to the main programme there were also plenty of opportunities to network and catch up with research nurses from all over Scotland, which is so important in this job. We left with our new knowledge, network links and our moral boosted which who knows may lead to an award for a ScotCRN nurse next year!
